Mining

Marble is extracted from open quarries on the surface of the earth, as well as from underground quarries. The methods of extraction and the sizes of the resulting marble blocks depend on the quarries themselves. The cutting process can be done either vertically or horizontally, depending on the shape of the area. The extracted blocks are classified according to their size, color and cleanliness.

Transporting Marble Blocks to Factories

Once marble blocks are extracted from quarries, they are transported by trucks to the manufacturers for processing. Due to their heavy weight, the marble blocks must be transported by cranes and machines during loading and unloading.

Cutting

The marble blocks are cut into slabs using different methods, according to the size and the weight of the blocks. There are some other factors that affect the cutting process, like the type of marble, its quality, or the purpose for which the marble is to be used.
